Moisture in transformer oil significantly reduces its dielectric strength and accelerates paper insulation aging. Even a small amount of water can drastically reduce the breakdown voltage.
We use the Karl Fischer Coulometric Titration method for precise measurement of water content in oil, even at trace levels as low as 1 ppm. Regular moisture monitoring is essential for transformer health.
